Pepperidge Farm’s New Sourdough Cookies Are 8 To A Bag For Under $6 At Walmart, In Dark Chocolate, Cinnamon Sugar And White Chocolate Raspberry

Pepperidge Farm has a new line of sourdough cookies on sale at Walmart, in three flavors: Dark Chocolate Sourdough with Brown Butter, Cinnamon Sugar Sourdough with Vanilla Bean, and White Chocolate Sourdough with Raspberry. Each comes in an 8.6-ounce bag of eight cookies, according to Walmart’s listings, which call the cookies “new” and “made with real sourdough.”

Trade outlet FoodBev reported on October 27 that the cookies launched as a Walmart exclusive in October and go nationwide from January 2027, through retailers including Kroger, Target and Amazon. It quoted the brand calling sourdough the “#1 most talked-about bakery trend for 2026.” Allrecipes, which called it a first-of-its-kind cookie on October 26, reported that the line is a permanent offering rather than a limited run.

Pepperidge Farm hasn’t posted a release or a product page for the cookies; its website lists only its sourdough bread and bagels. It has posted a short video of them on its own Facebook page, asking fans “which flavor you’re trying first.”

The three flavors

Here is how Walmart’s listings describe each one:

  • Dark Chocolate Sourdough with Brown Butter: soft cookies with “rich dark chocolate flavor, a hint of sourdough, and a warm brown butter finish.” FoodBev and Allrecipes both say the chocolate is in chunks.
  • Cinnamon Sugar Sourdough with Vanilla Bean: cinnamon sugar and vanilla bean with “a light sourdough taste,” in a cookie the listing calls soft and sweet. Both outlets add pearl sugar, which Allrecipes says gives a small crunch.
  • White Chocolate Sourdough with Raspberry: white chocolate with “a bright raspberry finish.” FoodBev describes white chocolate chips and raspberry flavor.

All three listings say the cookies have no high fructose corn syrup and no artificial colors, and give the same allergen line: contains egg, wheat, milk and soy. A serving is one cookie (31 grams): 130 calories for the dark chocolate, 140 for the other two, per the listings’ nutrition panels.

What they cost

Walmart’s website showed $4.52 a bag for all three on October 28, for pickup or delivery from the store it defaulted to, a Washington, D.C., Supercenter. FoodBev and Allrecipes both give the price as $5.89. Walmart’s prices vary by store, so shoppers may see either figure, or something in between.

Where else to get them

Not yet. The cookies are Walmart-only for now, and the January 2027 rollout comes from FoodBev’s and Allrecipes’ reports, not from a Pepperidge Farm announcement.

Bake the flavors at home

None of these are sourdough, and none is a copycat of the new line. They are our own cookies built on the same three ideas.

Our Sour Cream Brown Butter Cookies put the brown butter in the frosting: browned butter beaten with cream cheese and powdered sugar, spread on a soft sour cream cookie. For cinnamon sugar, our Classic Snickerdoodles roll each ball of dough in cinnamon sugar before baking. And our Raspberry White Chocolate Cookies fold frozen raspberries and white chocolate chips into a melted-butter dough.

For a Pepperidge Farm cookie we did copy, our Mint Milanos are piped vanilla cookies sandwiched with mint chocolate ganache.
