When Is The Great British Baking Show Holiday Special On Netflix? November 23, With Olivia Colman, The Peep Show Cast And Past Bakers
The Great British Baking Show’s holiday episodes come to Netflix on Monday, November 23, the start of Thanksgiving week. Netflix’s November list has “The Great British Baking Show: Holidays,” Season 9, arriving that day, with a one-line promise: “Jolly treats, returning contestants, and the ‘Peep Show’ cast bring holiday hilarity to the tent.”
That line matches the two holiday specials that aired in Britain last winter on Channel 4, where the show runs first as The Great British Bake Off: one with the cast of the British sitcom Peep Show, Oscar winner Olivia Colman among them, and one with bakers from past seasons. Netflix hasn’t posted the episode list yet.
We’ve added it to our holiday baking show calendar, and it lands on a busy night.
The Christmas special: Olivia Colman and the Peep Show cast

Five actors from Peep Show, a British comedy that ended in 2015, reunite in the tent: David Mitchell, Olivia Colman, Isy Suttie, Matt King and Sophie Winkleman. American viewers are most likely to know Colman, who won the 2019 Oscar for best actress for The Favourite. Bake Off’s own page for the special says it is the cast’s first time together since the show ended.
The bakes lean festive. Channel 4’s listing says the cast “create biscuit decorations, a Boxing Day classic and their favourite moments in cake form.” In American terms, that’s cookie decorations (a biscuit is a cookie in Britain), a dish for Boxing Day, the British holiday on December 26, and cakes based on scenes from the show. It first aired in Britain on Christmas Day 2025.
Prue Leith and Paul Hollywood judge, with Noel Fielding and Alison Hammond hosting. Prue Leith has since left the show, and Nigella Lawson now judges beside Paul Hollywood in the current series, the one Netflix calls Collection 14.
The New Year’s episode
The “returning contestants” are most likely the New Year’s special. Channel 4 lists “The Great New Year’s Bake Off 2025/26,” first shown on January 1, 2026, in which “teams of legendary bakers from seasons gone by bring in 2026 the only way they know how… with fabulous festive baking.” Channel 4’s listing doesn’t name the bakers.
Same night, another bake-off
Netflix’s date is also the night CBS airs the two-hour Pillsbury Bake-Off Classic, 8 to 10 p.m. ET/PT, hosted by Drew Barrymore, with rounds running “from cookies for a cookie exchange to Thanksgiving pies,” CBS says. We covered what the Pillsbury Bake-Off bakers will make separately.
Something to bake while you watch? We don’t have a cut-out cookie for hanging on the tree. For a warm plate on the couch, our Copycat Starbucks Ginger Molasses Cookies are soft spiced cookies rolled in sugar, our take on Starbucks’, not anything from the show.
