To prepare the crust and crumble combine flour with the sugar, and cinnamon then add the cold cubed butter. Use your hands to combine the mixture until coarse crumbs form.
Press ⅔ of the mixture into the prepared baking dish. This will be the bottom crust. Then you will want to add a layer of the apple mixture and then top it with the remaining buttery crumble crust to finish them off. You will want to try and ensure there is an even layer of each.
Bake for one hour. You will want the apples to have really cooked down and the crust bakes. The crumble will have a crunchy texture and be golden brown.
