Trader Joe’s Adds Dark Chocolate Snowflake Cookies With Candy Bits And A Gingerbread Mini Sheet Cake For The 2026 Holidays
Trader Joe’s Snowflake Cookies with Candy Bits and a Gingerbread Mini Sheet Cake are two new desserts on the chain’s holiday list. Both are marked “LIMITED TIME” on Trader Joe’s website, and the chain calls both new for the 2026 holiday season. The two product pages were up on its site by Friday, October 30.
The Snowflake Cookies

The cookies are small. Trader Joe’s describes them as two-bite, snowflake-shaped cookies that are “thin and crispy, with notes of creamy vanilla.” Its buyer asked the supplier to drench them in dark chocolate and top them with caramelized candy bits, which the chain says gives them “a satisfying, toffee-esque crunch.”
Trader Joe’s lists the 5.5-ounce box at $4.99 (its prices can vary by store). The cookies are kosher, according to the page. A serving is five cookies (30 grams) at 140 calories. The ingredient list starts with bittersweet chocolate, unbleached enriched flour, cane sugar, toffee pieces, palm oil and eggs, and also includes nonfat dry milk, maple sugar, honey and vanilla bean specks. Trader Joe’s allergen statement lists milk, egg, soy and wheat, and says the cookies may contain sesame, peanuts and tree nuts.
Trader Joe’s suggests them with English Breakfast Tea or an Espresso Martini, or tucked into a gift basket. They will be on the chain’s cookie shelves “through the end of December,” the page says.
Readers who want a dark-chocolate-coated cookie from their own oven can try our Homemade Thin Mints, thin chocolate peppermint cutouts dipped one at a time in melted dark chocolate. It is a different flavor, not a copycat of the Trader Joe’s cookie.
The Gingerbread Mini Sheet Cake

The cake is new to Trader Joe’s bakery section. The chain describes a spiced cake with “a moist, spongy crumb,” topped with piped cinnamon cream cheese frosting and a decorative cookie crumb topping. The cake’s spices, per the ingredient list, are ginger, cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg, with molasses.
It weighs 18 ounces, and Trader Joe’s lists it at $5.99. Trader Joe’s nutrition panel divides it into six servings; one sixth of the cake (85 grams) is 370 calories. Trader Joe’s points to the Mini Sheet Cakes’ reclosable lid for carrying one to a party or potluck, suggests French Roast Coffee alongside, and jokes about eating it with a “purse fork.” The cake’s allergen statement lists milk, egg, soy and wheat, and says it may contain almond. The page gives no end date for the cake.
Our Copycat Starbucks Ginger Molasses Cookies use much of the same spice cabinet: ground ginger, cinnamon and nutmeg in a brown sugar and molasses dough, rolled in sugar before baking. They are cookies, not a cake, and not a copycat of this one.
Also on Trader Joe’s holiday shelves
Candy Cane Joe-Joe’s are on shelves too. Trader Joe’s says they are “back after a brief absence, and with an improved recipe and updated packaging art” (16 ounces, listed at $4.49). A Maple Flan, listed at $3.49, also went up on the site.
Earlier this fall we covered two other Trader Joe’s items, A Singular Chocolate Chip Cookie and the Teeny Tiny Pumpkin Pies.
