BJ’s Fans Picked Banana And Nutella In A July Poll, And Now It’s A Pizookie On A Banana Bread Cookie, At Every BJ’s For A Limited Time

BJ’s fans voted banana and Nutella their top Pizookie pick in July, and on Thursday, October 29, the chain put it on a banana bread cookie. The Nutella Gone Bananas Pizookie, the first Pizookie built on a banana bread base, is at all BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse locations nationwide for a limited time, while supplies last, the chain said in its announcement.

The Pizookie is BJ’s signature dessert, which its menu describes as a warm cookie baked to order and topped with ice cream. This one changes the cookie. It is built on a freshly baked banana bread cookie, which BJ’s calls “a first-of-its-kind Pizookie base.”

On top go two scoops of vanilla bean ice cream, a drizzle of Nutella and crushed hazelnuts.

Picked in a July flavor poll

When the chain shared possible Pizookie flavors on social media in July, banana and Nutella “was the top-voted combination,” said Monika Saxena, brand president at BJ’s Restaurants, in the release. BJ’s then put the pairing on its new banana bread base, which Saxena said feels fitting for the holiday season.

What it costs, and where to find it

BJ’s lists two deals for the new Pizookie:

• $5 on Pizookie Tuesday.
• $5 more on the $13 Pizookie Meal Deal, which runs all day Monday through Friday. BJ’s describes the Meal Deal as an entree, such as a smash burger, a crispy chicken sandwich or a personal deep dish pizza, with a warm Pizookie for dessert. The fine print on its dessert menu says the $13 price is not valid for seasonal Pizookies.

The release gives no regular menu price, and BJ’s menu notes that prices vary by location. BJ’s has not announced an end date. The chain has more than 200 restaurants in 31 states.

Our Quick and Easy Nutella Cookies start from a full cup of Nutella with flour, an egg and a few pantry basics. Neither is a BJ’s copycat, just our own cookies with the same flavors.
