Starbucks Started Selling 3 Mini Thanksgiving Pies 58 Days Early, And Neither Of The 2 Reviewers Who Ate All 3 Picked The Flavor Starbucks Is Famous For

Starbucks added three Mini Pies to its U.S. bakery case on Tuesday, September 29, 2026: apple crumble, pecan and pumpkin. That was 58 days before Thanksgiving, which falls on November 26. Two reviewers ate all three in the launch’s first two days and published their picks on September 30. Neither chose pumpkin, the flavor that has its own Pumpkin Picks section on the Starbucks menu.

Which Pie The Reviewers Picked

Tasting Table’s Michael Palan ranked apple crumble first, pecan second and pumpkin third. PureWow’s Candace Davison gave her vote to pecan.

Both were kind to the pumpkin pie anyway. Palan called it the best-looking of the three and praised its cinnamon and nutmeg aroma, but wrote that it tasted more of sweet potato than pumpkin. Davison called it the least sweet of the bunch. That is two people’s taste, not a verdict.

Starbucks sells these as fall flavors. The Thanksgiving label comes from the calendar and from Palan, who thanked the chain for “early Thanksgiving treats.”

What Is In The Three Mini Pies

Starbucks’ menu describes them this way:

  • Apple Crumble Mini Pie: tender apples baked under a buttery streusel topping. 290 calories. The same flavor in cookie form is our Apple Pie Cookies, made from refrigerated pie crust and a cinnamon apple filling.
  • Pecan Mini Pie: a buttery pecan filling in a flaky crust. 250 calories. Our Pecan Pie Cookies put a brown sugar and pecan filling on a soft sugar cookie.
  • Pumpkin Mini Pie: a creamy spiced pumpkin filling with an oak-leaf piece of crust on top. 210 calories. For pumpkin with coffee in it, our Pumpkin Spice Latte Cookies have pumpkin puree and instant espresso in the dough and an espresso buttercream on top.
Homemade apple pie cookies with lattice pastry tops and cinnamon sugar, stacked on a wooden board with a bowl of red apples behind them.
Not the Starbucks pie: these are our homemade Apple Pie Cookies.

Tasting Table puts each pie at 3½ inches wide, and Palan counted about five bites apiece. The apple crumble and pecan pies are served warm, and the pumpkin can be warmed on request, according to his review.

Davison found a second use for them. She reported that a pie sits inside the raised rim of a grande cup lid, “to the millimeter” in her words, so it can ride on top of the drink.

What The Mini Pies Cost

Prices depend on the store. Palan paid $3.45 a pie at a Starbucks in Manhattan, where any two cost $5.95 and all three cost $8.45. Davison paid $2.95 apiece and saved $1.90 by ordering all three. Deal site Hip2Save listed the same $2.95 on October 1, with a three-pie bundle at $6.95.

Where To Find Them And For How Long

The pies are sold at participating Starbucks stores across the United States. Tasting Table, Allrecipes and The Kitchn all describe them as a limited-time item, and none gives an end date. As of October 5, all three were still on the Starbucks menu.

They reached Canada first. Daily Hive reported the three pies on Starbucks Canada’s fall menu, which started August 25. And Better Homes & Gardens notes that Starbucks sold an individual Pecan Tart on its fall menu in 2013.

The next bakery date is October 22. People reports that a Venti Black Night Cookie, a large cocoa cookie with caramel fudge pieces and caramelized white chocolate, arrives at select U.S. Starbucks stores that day. Until then, our Copycat Starbucks Ginger Molasses Cookies are a homemade version of an earlier Starbucks cookie, spiced with ginger, cinnamon and nutmeg and rolled in sugar.
