Copycat Crumbl Cookie Dough Cookies

Ingredients
  

Edible cookie dough

  • 1 tbsp butter, softened
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tsp heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour (microwave for 90seconds, stirring every 20 seconds to remove potential bad bacteria)
  • 1 tbsp mini chocolate chips

Cookies

  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 2/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Icing

  • 2/3 cup butter, softened
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1.5 tbsp heavy cream
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2-3 tbsp mini chocolate chips for topping

Instructions
 

  • To make cookie dough balls: cream butter and brown sugar together with a fork. Add vanilla and cream and combine thoroughly. Microwave the flour then add to the sugar mixture and mix until dough forms, then stir in chocolate chips Roll into half-inch balls and place in the refrigerator until ready to use.
  • Preheat oven to 350F, line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Combine flour, baking soda, and salt together in a mixing bowl and set aside.
  • Beat butter and brown sugar together until light, beat in the egg and vanilla.
  • Add the flour mixture, and mix until fully incorporated.
  • Roll cookie dough into large, walnut-sized balls, and flatten to about ½ inch thick.
  • Place on the lined cookie sheet and bake in the center of the preheated oven for 10 minutes until the edges are set.
  • Remove from the oven and let cool, while the cookies are cooling, make the icing by beating icing ingredients together.
  • When cookies are cool, top each with a tablespoon of icing, then the cookie dough balls and a few mini chocolate chips.
