Krispy Kreme Is Giving A Free Doughnut To Anyone In Costume On October 30 And 31, And 10,000 Free-Dozen Passes. Here Is How It Works
Krispy Kreme is giving a free doughnut to anyone who walks into a participating shop in costume on Friday, October 30, or Saturday, October 31, and on those two days it will hand 10,000 randomly chosen customers a pass for a free dozen in November. Before then, it has dyed its Original Glazed dough orange: the new All Jacked Up Dozen, 12 orange-colored doughnuts, sells for $13 through Thursday, October 29, in shops, at the drive-thru and online for pickup and delivery.

Krispy Kreme announced all three offers in a release dated Monday, October 26.
How the free doughnut and the passes work
In costume: guests in costume at participating Krispy Kreme shops on Friday, October 30, or Saturday, October 31, get a free Original Glazed or Classic Ring Doughnut. No purchase is needed, and the limit is one per guest, the release says.
Jack’s Treat Dozen Pass: on the same two days, Krispy Kreme says it will hand 10,000 randomly selected guests at participating U.S. shops a pass good for a free dozen Original Glazed with any purchase from November 1 through November 14. The release says restrictions apply and points to Krispy Kreme’s Halloween promo page for complete details.
What’s in the dozen
Three of the 12 are decorated, according to Krispy Kreme:
- Mummy Jack: an orange Original Glazed dipped in icing, topped with white vanilla-flavored buttercreme icing and a green iced stem.
- Jack O’ Doughnut: orange icing with a chocolate icing face and a green stem, a jack-o’-lantern in doughnut form.
- Monster Jack: orange icing, chocolate cookie pieces and chocolate icing stitches, with a green stem.
The other nine are orange-tinted Original Glazed finished with an icing drizzle. Krispy Kreme says the taste is the same as its regular Original Glazed and that the classic version “isn’t going anywhere.”
The Monster Jack is the only one with cookie in it. The release calls the topping chocolate cookie pieces and doesn’t name a brand, unlike the Oreo pieces on the Looney Tunes Taz doughnut.
For a cookie with the same spooky job, our Shortbread Halloween Skull Cookies are a rolled vanilla dough cut with Halloween cookie cutters and piped with meringue-powder icing tinted black. They’re our own recipe, not a Krispy Kreme copycat.
The fine print on the $13 dozen
Krispy Kreme’s release says the dozen started “today,” October 26, and runs through Thursday. Its promo page for the dozen gives the dates as October 27 through October 29 and limits it to participating U.S. shops, subject to availability. It isn’t offered in Canada or Puerto Rico. The promo page has a shop finder; a shop that doesn’t appear there isn’t taking part.
Krispy Kreme’s busy Halloween
The orange dozen is the latest of several Halloween-season deals. The Looney Tunes Halloween collection, which we covered on October 9, runs through October 31 at participating U.S. and Canadian shops, according to Krispy Kreme’s Halloween page. That page also lists a $13 Looney Tunes Lab Dozen that ran October 13 to 15, and the chain brought back its chocolate Original Glazed in a $5 Taz dozen from October 20 to 22.
