Sweet Loren’s Puts A Thin And Crispy Cookie Dough In The Refrigerated Aisle At Select Whole Foods Stores This October, In Chocolate Chunk And Double Chocolate, Both Gluten-Free And Dairy-Free

Sweet Loren’s has added a thin and crispy cookie to its refrigerated dough line. The company announced Thin & Crispy Cookie Dough on Monday, October 19, in two flavors, Chocolate Chunk and Double Chocolate, and said it will sell them “exclusively at select Whole Foods Market stores in October 2026.” Availability and timing vary by store, the release says, and the brand points shoppers to its store locator.

It is the first thin and crispy dough from a company whose cookies have been the soft kind since founder Loren Castle got her first dough onto a Whole Foods shelf in 2012. Our October 6 story on the brand’s cupcake collaboration with Baked by Melissa has that history.

The two doughs

Both are pre-portioned, the release says, and bake in a conventional oven or a toaster oven, one cookie at a time or a whole tray. The brand lists both as Non-GMO, certified gluten-free, dairy-free and free from the top nine major food allergens, at 100 calories per serving.

  • Chocolate Chunk: “a classic thin and crispy cookie loaded with rich chocolate chunks in every bite,” per the release.
  • Double Chocolate: “a deeply chocolatey cookie with brownie-inspired flavor and a delicate, satisfying crunch.”

Sweet Loren’s product pages, which went up on October 16, add that the Chocolate Chunk “bakes up thinner and crispier than traditional cookie dough” and call the line “the first of its kind.” That is the brand’s description; no outlet has baked it yet.

The release does not give a price, and neither product page shows a shelf price.

What the company says

“Thin & Crispy brings something completely different to the refrigerated dough aisle, a light, satisfying crunch from edge to edge, with the convenience and trusted ingredients people expect from Sweet Loren’s,” Castle, the founder and CEO, said in the release.

The release frames the launch as the latest in a run of new formats. Sweet Loren’s introduced ready-to-bake oatmeal bars and scones earlier this year, it says, and its site now lists scones, oatmeal bars and cinnamon sugar and garlic herb sticks as new alongside its cookie doughs, puff pastry, pie crust and pizza crust. The company calls itself the “#1 natural refrigerated dough brand in the US” and says its products are in the refrigerated dough section of more than 30,000 retailers; both are the brand’s own figures.

Where to find it, and a homemade cousin

For bakers who would rather make the cookie than buy the dough, two of our recipes share the flavors, though not the texture. Our Chocolate Chip Cookies use both semisweet and milk chocolate chips in a butter dough that the card describes as soft and chewy, and they are made with all-purpose flour, so they are not gluten-free. Our Fudgy Triple Chocolate Chip Cookies are the double-chocolate idea in a cocoa dough with chopped chocolate, chocolate chips and white chocolate chips; the card calls them rich and fudgy with crisp edges. A true thin and crispy chocolate chip cookie is not in our catalog yet.
