Twix Cookies
These Twix Cookies will blow you away with how similar they taste to a Twix candy bar! Twix cookies have been going viral on TikTok. There are several different recipes floating around! Some of them are copycat recipes of the Crumbl Twix Cookie, while others are unique spins on the treat. So, I thought I would create my own version!
To make it easy for everyone, these Twix cookies are drop cookies. So you don’t need a rolling pin to roll out the dough. You also don’t have to refrigerate the dough before using it. You can make the batter, scoop the cookies, and get them right in the oven for a quick and easy treat. Decorating them is just as easy! You can use store-bought caramel candies and milk chocolate chips.
The cookie recipe for the base is so darn delicious. It tastes incredible just by itself. Its texture is somewhat of a mixture between a chewy sugar cookie and a shortbread cookie. The inside is soft, but the outside is crisp and buttery. The crumbly edges are a perfect match for creamy chocolate, just like a Twix. You can also taste a sweet and salty balance, which prevents the cookies from being overly sweet once you add the toppings.
This recipe gives you plenty of room for experimentation since you can make the garnishes and decorate them however you want! As long as you use the three components (the cookies, caramel, and chocolate), it will taste exactly like the famous Twix candy. Get ready to craft the viral TikTok Twix cookies in the comfort of your kitchen, and in less than an hour!

Recipe Overview
- Serving Size: 1 cookie
- Number of Servings: 16 cookies
- Time to Cook: 12- 14 minutes
Ingredients in Twix-style Cookies
- 1 cup Unsalted butter, softened
- ¾ cup Granulated sugar
- ½ cup Brown sugar, packed
- 1 Egg
- 2 tsp Vanilla extract
- 2 ¾ cup all-purpose flour
- 1 ½ tsp Baking powder
- ½ tsp Salt
- 1 bag Caramel candies, I used about half
- 1 cup milk chocolate chips

Optional: If you want your caramel to be chewy on the cookie rather than form a crunchy shell, you can add a splash of milk or heavy cream when melting it. Similarly, if the chocolate chips are too thick for your liking when melted, you can add a splash of coconut or vegetable oil to loosen the mixture.
Instructions for making Chocolate and Caramel Twix Cookies
- Preheat oven to 350F.
- In the bowl of a stand mixer with a paddle attachment, whip the softened butter. Once it is no longer lumpy, add both sugars. Scrape the sides of the bowl in between new additions to catch anything stuck to the sides.
- Mix until light and fluffy. Add the eggs and vanilla, mixing to incorporate.
- Add the dry ingredients, mixing until it forms a dough.
- Scoop the cookies onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or foil. Use your hand to gently press them down part of the way so they have a flat top.

6.Bake the cookies for 12 to 14 minutes until they are lightly golden brown around the edges and begin to crack on top.
7. Allow the cookies to cool. Then, melt the caramel candies on the stovetop or in the microwave. If you would rather have the caramel stay soft when it cools down, you can add one to two tablespoons of milk or heavy cream to them.
8. Apply the caramel to the cookies. You can put a small dollop in the center to keep it pristine or put more and have it melt down the sides like I did, giving them a rustic look!

9. Place the cookies in the refrigerator for about 10 minutes, allowing the caramel to partially set.
10. Meanwhile, melt the chocolate chips. If it seems rather thick, you can add a tiny amount of melted coconut oil or vegetable oil to thin it out.
11. Spoon the chocolate on the cookies and spread it to create a circle of chocolate on top of the caramel. As another option, drizzle chocolate lines on them.
12. Allow some time for the chocolate to firm up, then enjoy!
Variations and Substitutions
- Sugar: You can use 1 ¼ cups granulated sugar if you don’t have brown sugar.
- Butter: If you use salted butter, omit the salt from the recipe.
- Flour: I don’t suggest using any other flour type (like cake flour, for example). However, you can try a 1:1 gf replacement if you would like to alter the recipe to be gluten-free! You would also need to purchase gf candies and chocolate.
- Use Twix Candies: Sprinkle on broken Twix bar pieces or incorporate them into the batter if you wish!
- Be creative with the chocolate. You can make all sorts of designs with the chocolate; you don’t have to just spread it into a circle! Drizzle lines or make other unique designs.
- Chocolate: You can use dark chocolate if you wish, but it won’t give you the full effect. I think the milk chocolate really helps give the cookie that classic Twix flavor.

Tips and Tricks for Making The Best Twix Cookies
- I suggest storing these cookies in the refrigerator. You can always heat them in the microwave if you want the chocolate to soften again!
- Freeze the cookies for 1-2 months if you want to extend their shelf life.
- Allow the caramel to be partially set before applying the chocolate. Otherwise, it might be too runny and ruin the design.
