Toll House Brings Back Its Hot Cocoa And Marshmallow Morsels In A Polar Express Bag, And Nestlé Says A Matching Cookie Dough Is In Stores Now
Nestlé Toll House’s Hot Cocoa & Marshmallow Morsels are back on shelves this holiday season in a bag decorated for The Polar Express, and Nestlé says a refrigerated cookie dough made with the same morsels is in stores now. The morsels have a page on Toll House’s own baking site; the dough doesn’t yet. Its details come from a statement Nestlé emailed to Parade, which reported the lineup on Wednesday, October 21.

The morsels
Toll House’s product page lists the 9-ounce (255-gram) bag under its full name, Hot Cocoa & Marshmallow Artificially Flavored Morsels, and pitches the chips as “the perfect Christmas cookie decorations” for sweets inspired by the film.
Allrecipes reports that the bag mixes chocolatey hot cocoa-flavored morsels with white marshmallow-flavored ones, and that Toll House first sold them “a couple of holiday seasons ago.” What’s new this year is the film packaging. Nestlé’s suggested price is $5.79 a bag, according to Parade, though prices may vary.
Bakers who’d rather start from scratch can get the same flavor from our Double Chocolate Hot Cocoa Cookies: a cocoa and cinnamon dough with melted dark chocolate stirred in and milk chocolate chips folded through, topped with mini marshmallows the moment the tray comes out of the oven. It’s our own recipe, not a copycat of anything Toll House makes.
The cookie dough
Nestlé’s statement, as Parade published it, names the dough The Polar Express Cookie Dough: a 14-ounce package of refrigerated dough made with the Hot Cocoa and Marshmallow morsels and holiday sprinkles, at a suggested price of $4.99. Nestlé says each cookie bakes up with a crispy edge and a soft, chewy center, and Allrecipes reports that a package makes 20 cookies.
Melanie Knoke, a senior marketing manager at Nestlé Toll House, said in the statement that the company wanted to capture the film’s spirit and “create a new way to enjoy holiday movie nights with freshly baked cookies.”
According to Allrecipes, the dough joins Toll House’s Santa’s Cookies and Peppermint Cocoa doughs in this year’s holiday lineup, along with the Snowflake Cookie Dough and Snowflake Morsels the brand introduced in its first Advent calendar, which we covered on October 8.
Where to find them
Nestlé told Parade that both products are at retailers nationwide now, and Allrecipes reports they’re available for a limited time. Neither report names a store or an end date. Toll House’s product page has a Where to Buy link for the morsels.
