Krispy Kreme is giving a free Original Glazed doughnut to voters on Election Day, Tuesday, November 3. Guests at participating U.S. shops who say they voted, or show an “I Voted” sticker, get one doughnut with no purchase necessary, the company said in a release on Monday, November 2.

How to get the free doughnut

The rules in Krispy Kreme’s release are short:

  • When: Tuesday, November 3, only.
  • Where: participating Krispy Kreme shops in the United States. Not every shop has to take part.
  • How: say you voted, or show an “I Voted” sticker.
  • What you get: one Original Glazed doughnut. No purchase necessary.
  • Limit: one doughnut per guest, while supplies last.

The release doesn’t say whether the offer works at the drive-thru, in the app or through delivery, and it gives no hours. A call to your local shop settles it. Krispy Kreme’s offers page had not yet listed the deal on the morning of November 2.

“Showing up for our communities – whether by voting or volunteering at the polls – is worth celebrating,” Alison Holder, Krispy Kreme’s chief brand and product officer, said in the release.

This year, the doughnut is tied to voting

Krispy Kreme has given away Original Glazed doughnuts on Election Day before, but not on these terms. For the November 8, 2022, election and again on November 5, 2024, the company’s releases offered a free Original Glazed to all guests at participating U.S. shops, voter or not. In 2024 it also handed out “I Voted” stickers at participating shops while they lasted.

The 2026 release narrows the offer to guests who say they voted or show a sticker, and it doesn’t mention handing out stickers this time.

Krispy Kreme’s second free doughnut in a week

The Election Day doughnut follows Krispy Kreme’s Halloween costume giveaway, when anyone who walked into a participating shop in costume on October 30 or 31 could get a free Original Glazed or Classic Ring doughnut. Earlier in October, the chain brought back its Chocolate Original Glazed for three days in a $5 Taz dozen.
